Is this just another standard ” hockey romance”? Yes , but it’s definitely one of the better ones.
If you loved Icebreaker with a sprinkle of The Dixon rule then you might want to pick this book up off your TBR.
It is set in America of course. Dalton university. Hell , we don’t want to read about English ice hockey where they have to have a nine to five also now do we? (Or do we?) If you know of any good ENGLISH league ice hockey romances please leave a comment below.
This book is dual POV (point of view) and we follow the team captain Aidan Crawford who takes one literally for the team and part of the punishment is to participate in ‘hockey hating’ Summer Preston psychology assessment.
This is a true enemies to lovers trope. And their interaction will keep you entertained throughout. Summer the FMC was the perfect feisty black cat. And although Aidan was a try golden retriever type he did give as good as he got.
After the reading slump from hell .
I actually found myself wanting to pick this book up.
Is it because hockey romances are my comfort read , possibly .
But I have read a lot of hockey romances and for one to be so similar yet hold my interest is no small achievement.
Only thing I would remotely have against this book is the similarity to some other well known books. But as reading is subjective I am not one to judge I just suppose it what you read first. I wouldn’t recommend this straight off the back of icebreaker. And if you hated Icebreaker I would not recommend this to you at all. You thought that was spicy!
Bal Khabra will definitely be an auto-buy author for me. Collide really held it’s own in a seriously over saturated market.
